Knights rout Spits 10-2 in Game 3


The London Knights took command of their Western Conference quarter-final in convincing fashion Tuesday.
The Knights scored four goals in the first period and rolled to a 10-2 win over the Spitfires in front of 3,764 at the WFCU Centre, which is the smallest crowd of the season.
The Knights took a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series and can advance to the next round with a win Thursday in Game 4 at the WFCU Centre. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Michael McCarron, Bo Horvat, Mitchell Marner and Chris Tierney scored to put the Knights up 4-0 after the first period. London has outscored Windsor 10-0 in the first period of this series.
Ben Johnson got Windsor on the board, but the Knights closed the period with goals from Zach Bell, Nikita Zadorov, Ryan Rupert and Josh Anderson.
Goalie Dalen Kuchmey appeared to pull himself at the TV timeout with the Knights up 8-1. He finished with 18 saves on 26 shots.
Alex Fotinos came in and stopped 11 shots for Windsor, but allowed goals to Matt Rupert and Chandler Yakimowicz.
