How will this rest effect the Ducks?

Down two goals in the third period with less than three minutes to go, the never say never, Anaheim Ducks came back again, to tie game six of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. They went on to win in overtime just 2:47 in, off a Nick Bonino wrist shot that beat Dallas Stars goal tender, Kari Lehtonen.  The Ducks wrapped up the first round playoffs in dramatic fashion, with an overtime win in Dallas to knock the Stars out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and propel them into a second round California match up. The Ducks wrapped their series early and are awaiting the Sharks-Kings series to find out who they will play. The Ducks will find out who they will face in the second round late Wednesday night. Whoever takes the series, be it Sharks or Kings, will not be well rested and will most likely be very sore after what has been a physical series. For the Ducks, Wednesday will mark day four of their rest period between series and there will likely be three or more rest days before the start of the second round.  How will this rest effect the Ducks?

Hockey is a game of repetition, speed and chemistry. Waiting a week to play in a game can cause timing, speed and conditioning issues. It can also become difficult to know where to be on the ice and it will be hard knowing where your teammates will be on the ice. This is how it is somewhat concerning that the Ducks will have to wait a long period of time before playing in a game. However, many physical players on the Ducks, such as the captain Ryan Getzalf, could use the extra days of rest to heal. Fortunately, the Ducks are 4-1 in the regular season in games played after 3 or more days of rest.
